Architecturally it is a stunning beautiful building, both inside and out. Very clean, large selections, and all the amenities you’d expect to find in a large library. The parking there, which is extensive, is only for 2 hours.

Selby Public Library is truly a gem in the community. The manager, Brian, consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the library is an enjoyable and welcoming place for everyone. Whether you're visiting to study, borrow materials, or attend one of their many programs, all of the staff make sure your experience is positive and fulfilling.

The collection is vast, offering something for everyone—whether you're looking for the latest bestseller, research materials, or entertainment for all ages. What I particularly appreciate is how the assistant managers and staff members consistently go out of their way to ensure visitors have everything they need. Their willingness to help and attention to detail make the experience feel personalized and supportive.

The library also excels in its community programming. There are programs for all ages and interests, making it a hub for lifelong learning, creativity, and social connection. The Selby Public Library isn't just a place to borrow books—it's a welcoming space that enriches the community, thanks in large part to the incredible team that works there. Highly recommended!

Love the building's exterior and it's in such a beautiful location. It's got awesome architecture inside as well and even if you hate books, the fish tank is totally worth a visit. It's a really interesting story about how they got it into the building.

This library is fantastic! They were very welcoming to a group of 14 children and accommodated them during meal time. They even offer free lunch for children <19. There was educational worksheets/ computer software available as well as puzzles and board games. The inclosed youth area had plenty of space for them to spread out to read in a quiet space or enjoy activities. We were lucky to enjoy the kickoff event in their auditorium with live DJ and photo booth. It was an enjoyable time for all.

Is a very entertaining library, my kid loved the fish tank, kind staff, and a very professional service. Too many amazing books in the kids area. We really enjoyed it during our visit.

I always look forward to visiting the Selby Public Library to see what treasures I can find in the Friends of the Library used book store. My five-year-old enjoys the books and computers in the children's section. And the ocean-inspired architecture of the building, both inside and outside, is worth a visit on its own.

This is a beautiful library! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the kids section has plenty of activities set up. Our kids love coming here - it's been a fun way to get them excited about reading!

At the entrance of the children’s section there is a beautiful arched fish tank with such beautiful fish. I enjoyed watching them swim. The children’s section is off to the side which makes it safer. The staff was friendly. They had many programs that children can

The library is located downtown in a city like atmosphere. That being said, that comes with homeless people and people that are down on their luck etc. in the area. I’ve never had a problem with any of these people although I have read some reviews that have talked About a problem with the homeless population in-this area. I recommend this library as an enjoyable learning experience.
