Review|Spend an extra £100 and get a better hotel! |I have given this hotel 1* because |A - the manager is very rude and unprofessional. She likes to sit with her back to the guests and talks at people rather than to them. Our shower head needed repairing and she tutted and sighed as though it was our fault. (5 minute job)|B - The hotel looks as though it was updated back in the 70s with plastic flowers and dated furniture |C - rooms very tired with an exceptionally loud air conditioning unit that barely cools the room. (Looks like an old chunky storage heater that sits on the floor). |D - The hotel sits on a main road which gets very busy and loud, so there is no chance of feeling relaxed by the small pool. |C - the pool area is very small and not enough beds for all the guests. However if you like to bake in the heat there is a roof top terrace that has chairs but no umbrellas. Always empty because no one can stay up there for more than 10 minutes. Would be much nicer if it was converted into a Roof Top bar, and would probably bring in more revenue. |The front of the restaurant area overlooks the beautiful lake but for some unknown reason the manager blocks it all off so the guests have a view of the car park and drive during breakfast and dinner🤷‍♀️|Maria, if you are reading this maybe it’s time for you to retire or learn to smile at the guests and at least pretend you are enjoying your job.

My wife and I spent a week, in August 2025, at this lovely Hotel/location. We have nothing but wholehearted praise for the whole week's super experience.
The location is ideal, the Hotel is just perfect and the Management and staff were both immaculate and responsive at all times.
We would readily recommend the Half-board option too, as we experienced most delightful 4-course dinners daily. We are most likely to be visiting same location/Hotel again, at the next opportunity.

Yes, it’s clean enough, is not too far from the town centre (15 mins walk), some of the good and many of the waiting staff are lovely, BUT the aircon hardly works at all, the pool is tiny, the roof top area is hardly useable as it has no shade and the Manager (Maria?) is dreadful. She routinely sits in the lobby with her back to the guests and is not interested. Maybe it’s time to retire. Her customer service skills are appalling and she’s ready to give you a sarcastic answer to any problems you might have with the room.|Dreadful.

Location is good. The only downside is it is on the main road around the Lake so noise from traffic was occasionally loud. 15-20 minute walk to the lovely Malcesine centre. (Turn right out of hotel, cross at crossing & take a little alley down to lake & follow the path - really gorgeous walk).|Room was basic but clean. Hotel itself was spotless. |Lovely little pool. |Great value for money - only had a couple of evening meals but you choose 4 courses. The salad was great.

This is the worst hotel we have stayed in. It is in desperate need of updating. There was only one socket which was under the bench and shared with the fridge and kettle. There was no tea or coffee, just a kettle. The shower was tiny and had a rusty plughole. The food was dreadful, the pizza from a local cafe for lunch was far better. The only good point was the Aircon and the view from the shared and overlooked balcony.

Whilst the hotel was spotlessly clean, that’s really the only positive I can offer. The decor and furnishings were extremely dated and jaded, with an abundance of plastic flowers adding to the tired feel of the place. Our room was cramped and very basic. Despite having a kettle, there were no tea or coffee provisions—just the bare minimum.||We stayed in room 6/7, directly beneath the dining room, so forget about a lie-in—the clatter from above started early each morning. The bed was rock hard, and I didn’t sleep well at all. The sunbeds around the pool looked like relics from the 1940s—uncomfortable and in serious need of replacing. The only redeeming feature was the attached sun visor, which was surprisingly handy.||As for the food: breakfast was a complete letdown and not worth bothering with—I mainly attended to get a coffee. The evening meals were basic at best, with the same uninspired salad served every night and overcooked vegetables. Our packed lunch one day was particularly disappointing: a Spar sandwich, a bruised apple, a small bottle of water, and two tasteless biscuits.||To top it all off, the final bill was scribbled on bits of paper, making it impossible to properly check. Overall, this hotel has nothing to recommend it, and I certainly won’t be returning.

We have just arrived back from a very enjoyable 6 night stay at Hotel Cristallo which we booked through Expedia. |We needed to communicate through email as we had a couple of questions (gluten free availability etc) and the hotel responded very promptly answering all questions. |We stayed in a room on the side of the hotel (Room 219) and in the morning we were greeted with a lovely view to the left of Lake Garda and to the right a lovely view of the mountains (images attached). The room was spotlessly clean and cleaned every morning. The shower was a little small but worked perfectly and was immaculately clean.|The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Every breakfast and dinner we were greeted with a warm welcome. The gluten free food was set aside from the rest and there was gluten free bread, cereals, crackers, biscuits and sponge cakes. Along with its own toaster. In the main area there was plenty of meats, fruits, drinks and everything you would expect from a continental breakfast.|Outside the hotel is a very short walk to bus stops in both directions, although they are not very punctual and when they do arrive they are very busy. It is also a short 15 minute walk into town and there are two ways of walking. One along the lake side which is accessed by steps or a slope or you can walk along the road which is quite level. Also a short walk to the EuroSpar if you would like to buy any snacks (fridge available in your room).|Malcesino is a beautiful town and this hotel is very well situated.|If we decide to revisit Lake Garda we will stay there again and would recommend it to any of our friends or family.|Many thanks to Maria, Elizabeth, Alicia and the rest of the hard working team.

Stayed here July 2025,Via Tui, beautiful well cared for hotel, very clean, lovely small pool and sunbeds, rooftop terrace available via lift on the 3rd floor, a hot tub spa tub on roof also which is a nice touch for a cool down, overall a lovely place to stay with lovely people running the hotel, the staff were very lovely, I would definitely return to this hotel, parking is available although I did not use as did not have a car
